Research

Osseointegration & bone regeneration

Dr Sylvain Mouraret’s research focuses on the cellular, molecular and biomechanical mechanisms that enable implants to integrate with bone and bone to regenerate. The guiding aim is to improve treatments in implantology and periodontology.

02 — Research areas

Three questions at the heart of his research

01

Osseointegration

Understanding how bone forms at the implant surface and how bone quality affects implant stability. This research has also explored the rescue of failing implants.

02

Bone regeneration

Rebuilding lost bone: vertical bone regeneration through periosteal elevation, the bone-forming capacity of autografts, and cell viability across different harvesting techniques.

03

Stem cells & growth factors

Promoting bone healing through biological approaches, particularly by enhancing Wnt signalling, which acts on skeletal stem cells.

Today

Research in Nice and peer review

Dr Mouraret continues to conduct research with teams in Nice. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals, including the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and the Journal of Periodontal Research.
